This year, we are celebrating a special anniversary. On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Church around the world will commemorate the 100th Missionary Sunday. For this World Mission Day, Pope Leo XIV has chosen the motto "One in Christ, united in mission,", to remind us that the Church is not made up of isolated communities, but one family spread throughout the world.
Whether we live in a small rural parish, in a city, or on a mission territory at the other end of the world, we are united by one baptism, one faith, and one mission. Every baptized person is not only endowed with faith, but also called to share it through their life.
Missionary Sunday is an opportunity to remember this, because the missionary mission is not the responsibility of a few selected missionaries, but of the entire Church. A proper celebration of World Mission Day – Missionary Sunday in parishes encourages faith, strengthens solidarity, and revitalizes parish communities.
Let's celebrate Missionary Sunday together with us in the parish with a traditional missionary cake.
We therefore invite everyone who wants to participate to bring on Saturday, October 17th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to the parish office cakes, pastries, bread, sweet or savory treats, in short, their creations with which they want to contribute to the celebration of this feast.
On behalf of the organizers, Jana Jasenská thanks you in advance.
